 Synopsis:

During a hot day in New Orleans, after his work at a hardware store, Samuel returns home with a bouquet of flowers for his wife Ashley for their wedding anniversary. However, he finds her cheating on him with Damien. He holds them captive at gunpoint, while he decides their fate.

At first, Samuel thinks about shooting both of them, but then he finds himself reliving the events in his mind. Instead of shooting them, he forces Ashley and Damien to reveal their personal lives and sexual encounters. Samuel learns that Damien has a wife, Jasmine, who is three months pregnant, and that Ashley's abusive ex-boyfriend was actually her ex-husband (it is not clear if Ashley is bigamous). Samuel asks Damien to call Jasmine, using the speaker so that everyone can hear the conversation, and to tell her what he had done with Ashley. Jasmine reveals that Damien has cheated on her many times in the past. Devastated, Jasmine is asked by Samuel to decide the fate of Damien: either Samuel shoots him, or he lets him go home. He suggests that Jasmine come and confront Damien in person, and have sex with Samuel to show him what it feels like to be cheated on. Samuel justifies his decision using his twisted religious beliefs that vengeance is his and not the Lord's.

Samuel finds himself later in reality, where it is revealed that he murdered Ashley and Damien and buried their bodies under the massif of roses in the backyard of his and Ashley's home.

FIGHTER BY ROCKY KIMOMO 2024

 Synopsis:

In Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, a terrorist organization led by Azhar Akhtar, plan to attack India, targeting the Srinagar Air Force Station base of the Indian Air Force.

Group captain Rakesh "Rocky" Jai Singh is assigned to counter the threat and forms a team called "Air Dragons" consisting of skilled fighter pilots. The team includes Squadron Leaders Shamsher "Patty" Pathania, Minal "Minni" Rathore, Sartaj "Taj" Gill, Basheer "Bash" Khan, and Sukhdeep "Sukhi" Singh. During training, the team members bond, and Minni develops romantic feelings for Patty. However, Patty is haunted by his past after he lost his fiancée in a previous mission. The team learn of an attack on CRPF soldiers in Pulwama, organized by Akhtar.

In response, the Indian Air Force, along with RAW agent Zarina Begum, plan a counterattack on Akhtar's base in Balakot. Despite succeeding in the mission, the aftermath causes conflict between India and Pakistan. The Pakistani Air Force launch a retaliatory attack on Indian base as a result. Despite Rocky's orders, Patty, Taj, and Bash cross the Indo-Pakistan border. Taj and Bash's plane is shot down by Pakistani pilots leading to them getting captured. Patty is suspended from the Air Dragons for disobeying orders and is placed as a flying instructor at the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad. It is revealed to Minni by Rocky that he holds a grudge against Patty for letting his fiancée, Naina Jai Singh (revealed to be Rocky's younger sister), die in a previous rescue mission.

The Pakistani government announce that they will be escorting Taj and Bash safely back to India. However, as the team wait for them to arrive, Sukhi tells Patty that Bash was brutally murdered by Akhtar and have imprisoned a badly injured Taj. Determined to rescue him, Patty defies orders and joins a covert mission. The team successfully infiltrate the enemy territory and Patty is able to rescue Taj and kill Akhtar. In the end, Minni and Patty embrace, celebrating their victory.

BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE BY ROCKY KIMOMO 2024

 Synopsis:

In 1976, amidst armed political conflict that is affecting daily life in Jamaica, Bob Marley announces he will perform at a concert, Smile Jamaica, promoting peace amongst the warring factions. While preparing for the concert, Marley, his wife Rita, and several other members of his band are shot by assailants. Rita and Marley are hospitalized, but survive and recover from their injuries in time for the concert. After performing, Marley, saddened that his own countrymen would try to kill him and his wife, shows the crowd his bullet wounds before walking off stage. He tells Rita to take their children to Delaware in the United States and stay with his mom, as he and the rest of his band venture to London.

After struggling to come up with a new album concept, Marley asks Rita to rejoin him and the band in England, and taking inspiration from the soundtrack of the film Exodus and their own situation, he and the band begin recording what would become their album of the same name. The album becomes a hit and helps further popularize reggae music and the Rastafari movement around the world. When the recording company schedules a tour in Europe, Marley also aims for stops throughout Africa to inspire the people there. This leads to friction with Rita as she and Marley argue about his responsibilities and both his and Rita's infidelities, in addition to having given up on promoting peace back in Jamaica. Marley also gets into an altercation with manager Don Taylor over a financial dispute.

After a toenail infection raises concern from Rita and his record producer Chris Blackwell, Marley is later diagnosed with a rare skin cancer. Blackwell confronts Marley about treatment choices, reluctantly dismissed by a firm Marley. Faced with his own mortality, Marley reconciles with Rita and Taylor and finally decides to return to Jamaica in 1978, where he is welcomed back by a crowd at the airport. Back home, the gunman who had shot him and the others arrives and begs for forgiveness, to which Marley states he "keeps no vengeance". After Marley debuts a song to Rita and the children about reconciliation, she finally deems him ready to perform a peace concert. The film ends as Marley and his band gear up to perform again for the Jamaican crowd with the song "One Love".

A pre-credits montage shows clips of the real Marley and his band during the One Love Peace Concert, which sees them joined on-stage by the heads of both of Jamaica's political parties, also revealing that Marley and his band were able to perform in Zimbabwe to celebrate the nation's independence before he died of his cancer in 1981 at the age of 36.

DHOOM BY ROCKY KIMOMO

 Synopsis:

A gang of robbers on motorbikes, led by Kabir, carry out robberies in Banks and other public places in Mumbai, causing chaos to the police. Assistant Commissioner of Police Jai Dixit, a no-nonsense police officer, is assigned to the case.

Jai seeks the help of a local bike dealer and racer, Ali Akbar Fateh Khan and creates a plan to trap the gang, though it fails. Kabir taunts Jai, claiming that he wouldn't even be able to catch him even if he was right in front of him. He is proven correct when Jai's failure causes him to part ways with Ali.

Kabir lures Ali into his gang as a substitute for Rohit, a member of Kabir's gang who was killed by Jai. Ali falls in love with Sheena, another member in the gang. The gang plan their next and final heist in Goa before parting ways. The gang plan to rob a casino on New Year's Eve. Kabir and his gang successfully rob the casino, however Kabir realizes that Jai led him into a trap. It is revealed that Ali was working with Jai the entire time, and a fight ensues.

Kabir manages to escape and goes back to the gang's truck, where Ali has kept Sheena hostage. Kabir confronts and beats up Ali for his betrayal, however Jai arrives and saves Ali. Kabir and his gang, except for Sheena, flee and Jai and Ali go after Kabir. Jai and Ali eliminate the gang except for Kabir, who attempts to escape, but is cornered by Jai and Ali. Rather than letting Jai arrest him, Kabir decides to take his own life by riding his bike over the edge of a cliff. The film ends with Jai and Ali arguing with one another, in a friendly way

KNOCK KNOCK BY ROCKY KIMOMO 2024

 Synopsis:

Architect and happily married man Evan Webber has the house to himself and his dog, named Monkey, on Father's Day weekend due to work and a physical therapy appointment for a shoulder injury while his wife and children go out on a family-planned beach trip. His wife Karen, a successful artist, leaves their assistant Louis in charge of her sculpture that needs to be moved to an art gallery for her show.

Two women, Genesis and Bel, knock on Evan's door during a rainstorm. Soaking wet, they tell him they are looking for the address of a party. As their phone is not working, Evan allows them in to dry off and use the Internet to get hold of the party's host. He gives them robes so they can dry their clothes in his dryer. The girls make themselves at home and flirt with Evan while he orders an Uber for them and plays a few of his old vinyl records from his days as a DJ. They then disappear to the bathroom when their driver arrives. Evan brings them their clothes and finds them nude. He tries to convince them to leave, but as they start forcing themselves upon him, he gives in and has a threesome with them.

The next morning, Evan finds out that his wife's sculpture has been vandalized by the girls. When Evan threatens to call the police, the girls claim they are underage. Vivian, a friend of Karen's, stops by to see if Evan needs help. Seeing Genesis, Vivian angrily leaves. When Evan threatens to report a break-in, they give in and agree to be taken home.

He then returns home and cleans the mess the girls have made. Genesis knocks him out with one of his wife's sculptures. Bel climbs onto him in an attempt to seduce him. Evan initially refuses, but the girls threaten to FaceTime his wife with him unless he agrees to do what they demand. He is tied to his bed, and Bel rapes him while Genesis records everything, calling him a pedophile. However, Evan breaks free and knocks Bel to the floor. He charges at Genesis, but she stabs him with a fork; she and Bel tie him to a chair with an electrical cord.

Louis arrives to collect the sculpture and finds Evan, but before he can help him he hears the girls smashing the vandalized sculpture. He runs to stop them, but then has an asthma attack and realizes they have taken his inhaler. As he tries to get it back, he slips on a piece of the sculpture, hits his head while falling, and dies. The giggling girls turn Louis' corpse into a red sculpture and dig a makeshift grave in the backyard for Evan. They also use both Evan's and Louis' phones to send text messages in order to give the appearance that Evan discovered that Louis had an affair with Evan's wife and because of this, was murdered by Evan. The girls trash the house, torment and torture Evan, cut his hair, and force him to play hide and seek. When Genesis and Bel begin trying to find Evan, he escapes from the house, only to be stopped and held at gunpoint by Genesis. The girls tell him that they have killed other men and announce that he will die at dawn.

At dawn, they tie Evan up with a hose, bury him in the hole, leaving only his head above ground, and tell him they will crush his skull with a large stone. It misses his head by inches, and the girls reveal that the entire ordeal was merely a "game", as they never intended to kill Evan, nor are either of them underage, and that everything they did was part of a hobby of seducig, victimizing, and ruining the homes of married men with children. Genesis shows Evan the video she recorded earlier with his phone of Bel raping him. As Evan looks on, she uploads it to his Facebook profile. They depart for another victim and take Monkey with them, leaving Evan to his fate. Karen and the kids arrive to find the house ruined; Evan's son, Jake, says, "Daddy had a party."

TAKERS BY ROCKY KIMOMO

 Synopsis:

Detectives Jack Welles and Eddie Hatcher investigate a daring heist by a group of well-organized bank robbers. The crew, led by Gordon Cozier, consists of John, A.J., and brothers Jake and Jesse Attica. The crew is without a former member, Ghost, who was caught during a previous robbery five years before. In his absence, Jake began a relationship with Ghost's former girlfriend Lilly, who had accepted his marriage proposal.

After Ghost is released from prison, he meets up with the crew to plan a major heist, in which it is discovered that two armored trucks will travel together, but that all the money is kept in the first truck, which holds $12 million.

The crew, dressed as construction workers, hide out underground, while Ghost poses as a police officer, so he can keep an eye out for the trucks. Meanwhile, in order to cover themselves in case Ghost is setting them up, John heads to the top of a nearby garage to take out Ghost with a sniper rifle in case things go wrong. The crew plan to detonate the blast when the armored trucks drive overhead, causing the trucks to fall underground. However, a cyclist causes the lead driver to stop short and the explosives are detonated too early. The lead driver radios the police, while armed guards pile out of the rear truck.

A gunfight ensues between the robbers in the crater and the guards on the street, until John commandeers the rear truck and rams the lead truck into the crater where the crew cut into it. John and the other robbers pack the cash into bags, and flee by heading down a variety of different tunnels, with the plan of connecting into various subway lines to make their escape.

Welles and Hatcher show up on the scene, and, after learning of the robbers' escape through the sewer system, remember a map of the city subway system from the Russian gang hideout, and deduce that they must be escaping through the stations marked on the map where the sewers intersect the subway. They rush to the nearest station, where they find Jesse, and a chase ensues, during which Jesse hides his bag of money and is cornered. He shoots Detective Hatcher and escapes while Welles stops to aid his partner, who dies from his wound.

Jesse reconvenes with the rest of the crew at a hotel room, and admits to the shooting of Hatcher. It is now revealed that Ghost had previously cut a deal with the Russian gangsters to kill his former accomplices in exchange for half of the heist's take. Ghost gives the Russians the hotel room number, then escapes out the bathroom window, just before the Russians storm the room and attempt to kill the crew. A.J. sacrifices himself to save the others in the ensuing gunfight, and the rest of the crew is able to kill the Russians and flee the building before the police arrive. Jake and Jesse return home where, to their horror, Jake finds Lilly's corpse, and Jesse finds the safe where they kept their secret stash of money opened and cleaned out. The police surround their bar, and shoot the two when they make a suicide charge outside, killing them.

Gordon and John separate to make their escape, but realize that Ghost intends to take all of their money, which is being held by Scott, a well-connected fence. Ghost sneaks onto Scott's private plane and kills him, taking their laundered money in two suitcases. Gordon and Detective Welles arrive, and a three-way Mexican standoff results in which Ghost hits both Gordon and Welles. As Ghost prepares to finish Gordon off, John arrives and shoots him dead. John recognizes Welles as the same cop, who was with the little girl. John and Gordon refuse to kill Welles. John and an injured Gordon take the money and drive off, with Gordon's sister Naomi in tow. A gravely wounded Welles manages to call 911 for help on his cell phone.

EAGLE BY ROCKY KIMOMO 2024

 

Synopsis: Eagle is a 2024 Indian Telugu-language action thriller film written and directed by Karthik Gattamneni and produced by T. G. Vishwa Prasad and Vivek Kuchibhotla under People Media Factory. It stars Ravi Teja in the titular role alongside Anupama Parameswaran, Kavya Thapar, Navdeep and others.

Release: Eagle was earlier announced to release on 13 January 2024, coinciding with Makar Sankranti. However, it was postponed to 9 February 2024 due to the clash of multiple films at the Tollywood box office during the Sankranti weekend. The film was simultaneously released in Hindi under the title Sahadev.

DAMSEL BY MUSSA SAVIMBI 2024

 Synopsis:

The first king of Aurea leads a futile attack on a dragon residing in his realm. All the king's men are killed, leaving the king at the dragon's mercy.

Centuries later, Elodie, daughter of Lord Bayford, receives a proposal from Queen Isabelle of Aurea to marry Prince Henry. On Bayford's advice, Elodie accepts to help their impoverished people, and she and her family sail to Aurea. Upon meeting, Elodie and Henry initially both seem uninterested in each other, but begin to bond as they share a desire to travel. Elodie’s stepmother, Lady Bayford, seeks out the queen, hoping to strengthen their familial bond, but Isabelle rebuffs attempts to become acquainted, leading Lady Bayford to futilely implore Elodie to end the engagement.

After the wedding, Elodie and Henry take part in an ancient ritual in the mountains, supposedly to celebrate their union. The queen, dressed as a priestess, describes the pact between the first king and the dragon, where he had to sacrifice his three daughters for peace. Following a ceremony where their hands are cut and held together, Henry insists on carrying Elodie across the narrow path over the dragon's lair, then throws her into the chasm.

Elodie recovers from the fall, realizing that she is the actual sacrifice. While finding a way out, the dragon enters the lair and taunts her before chasing Elodie and burning her leg. After escaping the beast, Elodie discovers an illuminated cave with glowing slugs, which she collects as a light source. The dragon finds her again. Upon fleeing, Elodie reaches a chamber with the note "Safe Here She Cannot Reach", the names of past victims and a map carved into the wall. While Elodie sleeps, the glowing slugs heal the burn on her leg.

Elodie follows the map, but it leads to a dead end at a high vertical drop on the mountainside. She discovers the remains of dead dragon hatchlings, providing the reason for the royal sacrifices. A rescue party led by Lord Bayford arrives. The dragon kills them all, but the distraction allows Elodie to escape the mountain. She takes one of the rescue party's horses and hides under a rock as the dragon burns the surrounding area in an unsuccessful pursuit.

The conflagration alerts Isabelle that Elodie's sacrifice has failed, forcing her to kidnap Elodie's sister Floria as a replacement. After her stepmother rides out and informs her, Elodie returns to the mountain to rescue Floria, who is left alive as bait.

Elodie creates a diversion to distract the dragon to reach Floria. Telling her sister to hide, she confronts the dragon and tries to convince her that they were deceived by the Aureans: by joining their cut hands at the wedding, the blood of the brides and the Aurean royals were mingled, deceiving the dragon that the sacrificed princesses were Aurean royalty. The dragon refuses to believe Elodie, stating that the first king's assault was unprovoked, and then attacks her, but Elodie tricks her into burning herself. With the dragon at her mercy, she heals both of them with the glowing slugs.

Elodie then interrupts another wedding at the palace, exposing the Aureans' treachery. Elodie advises the new bride and her family to flee, and the dragon burns the palace with all the Aurean royals and nobles inside. Days later, Elodie, Floria, and Lady Bayford sail home, loaded with supplies and accompanied by the dragon.

Release: 

Damsel was scheduled to stream on Netflix on October 13, 2023. However, due to the impact of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike on the film's promotion, the original release date was postponed and the film began streaming on March 8, 2024.

Production: 

Damsel was directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo from a script by Dan Mazeau, and produced by Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum through their production company for Netflix. Emily Ballou and Mark Bomback were credited for "additional literary material" off-screen.

In November 2020, Millie Bobby Brown was cast as Princess Elodie; she was also named as the film's executive producer. In April 2022, it was reported that Angela Bassett, Nick Robinson, Robin Wright, Ray Winstone, Brooke Carter, and Shohreh Aghdashloo were part of the cast.

Principal photography took place in early 2022. Cave scenes were shot at Troubadour Meridian Water Studios in London. Filming also took place in Portugal at Tomar, Sortelha, Serra da Estrela, and at the Batalha Monastery. The dragon was designed by Patrick Tatopoulos.

The film's score was composed by David Fleming and produced by Hans Zimmer. The soundtrack includes a cover of the Johnny Cash song "Ring of Fire", performed by Lykke Li. Netflix Music released the soundtrack album digitally on March 5, 2024.

LIFE IN A YEAR BY ROCKY KIMOMO 2020

 Synopsis:

Groomed to get into Harvard by his father Xavier, Daryn meets a girl named Isabelle one night while trying to sneak into a rapper’s concert and is instantly drawn to her. He courts and eventually falls in love with her but when Daryn confesses his love, Isabelle reveals that she has cancer and doesn't have much time left.

So, Daryn makes a plan to live a life in a year. Isabelle recognises his potential as a rapper and helps him to make his first demo CD. When Daryn takes her to meet his parents. Xavier, disliking Isabelle, uses the moment to fire questions at her. He concludes by saying it is his responsibility to protect his son from distractions, such as girls; especially those like Isabelle. Feeling offended and rejected, Isabelle and her drag queen, parental figure Phil leave and Daryn is left alone and depressed.

A few days later, Daryn is shortlisted at Harvard and he attends his interview with his father. When asked what skills and abilities he has, he loses himself to memories of Isabelle. To his father's disappointment, he ends up saying worthless things and excuses himself.

Later at home, Daryn quarrels with his father and is almost punched by him but his mother intervenes and stops the fight. Daryn goes to Isabelle and apologizes, deciding to abandon his family and leave town with Isabelle.

The two spend days together, and one day Daryn tries to surprise her by driving her to her mother's. He convinces her to talk with her, but when she does, her mother recognizes her but tells her to leave. Feeling rejected, Isabelle asks Daryn to drive away.

While driving, an upset Isabelle starts yelling and shouting at Daryn, distracting him so he crashes into a bush near the beach. When Isabelle gets out, she becomes unconscious. Daryn calls for help, and manages to get Isabelle to the hospital.

A few days after Isabelle is discharged, her mother comes to visit but soon leaves. Daryn's mother discovers that he is back in town and decides to see them. Isabelle suggests that Daryn take a break from taking care of her just for the day, as his mother is around. Daryn uses the opportunity to record his second song.

When Daryn gets back, he finds his mother panicking and Isabelle on the floor, unconscious and bleeding through her mouth. They get her to the hospital and there, they discover that Isabelle's cancer has spread and her organs are shutting down. The nurse concludes by saying that Isabelle has only a few weeks left.

Soon after Isabelle is discharged, she surprises Daryn with a wedding. They get married and consummate their love, Isabelle passes away a short time later. Daryn reconciles with his father and moves to New York City to pursue a career in music after graduating.

In April 2017, Terrence Howard, Stony Blyden, Nia Long, RZA and JT Neal joined the cast of the film. In May 2017, Chris D'Elia and Cuba Gooding Jr. joined the cast of the film, with Gooding Jr. replacing Howard.

GALLOW WALKERS BY YANGA 2023

 

Synopsis:

A group of disfigured people gather near a railroad in a desert where they are killed by a mysterious gunslinger named Aman (Wesley Snipes), who also rips out the head and spine from one of the dead bodies.

Nearby in the same desert, a group of criminals are waiting to be transported. Aman arrives, kills most of the guards, and frees one criminal called Fabulos (Riley Smith). The rest of the criminals nonetheless end up being transported to a small settlement where they are supposed to be hanged. However, just as they arrive, the settlement is attacked by a bizarre gang led by a skinless man named Kansa (Kevin Howarth), who slaughters most of the inhabitants.

Through flashbacks, it is revealed that the same gang of outlaws once raped Aman's lover. so he went after them and brutally killed them while they were imprisoned and defenseless. While Aman was running away, he was killed. so his mother, who is a nun, broke her covenant with God and sacrificed herself to save him, which in turn cursed him for life. The curse makes all the people killed by Aman come back to life, so all the gang members that Aman had killed returned as undead to seek revenge, except for Kansa's son who remained dead. The undead lose their skin after a week, so they remove the skins from the people they kill to use as replacements. The only way the undead can be killed is by destroying their brains.

While Aman and Fabulos are visiting a woman and child, part of the undead gang attacks. But the four manage to kill all the attackers. However, Fabulos is severely wounded, so Aman kills him in order for him to come back as undead.

Kansa, who has put on a new skin, and his remaining 2 undead followers arrive at a secret temple with the beautiful Angel (Tanit Phoenix) whom they took hostage back in the settlement. Kansa believes that inside the temple they will find a way to resurrect his dead son, but this proves to be false. Aman and the undead Fabulos soon catch up with them, and Aman kills Kansa and his followers. While Aman is leaving with Kansa's head in his hand, Angel seductively approaches Fabulos.

FURIES BY ROCKY KIMOMO 2024 EP 1

EPISODE TITLE: I Work For Her

Synopsis:

Episode 1 of Furies season 1 starts in Paris, 1999. A stylish opener introduces us to an assassin called The Fury, a woman who has her head deep in the crime game. It’s chaos as she fights her way down an underground passageway, firing bullets and killing her targets with ease.

Our story starts in the present, with Lyna flying close to the sun. Her partner, Elie, is a cop while her parents disapprove of this partnership given they’re both criminals. Things are going great though, and while Lyna looks set to celebrate her birthday, unbeknownst to her, this is about to be the worst birthday of her life.

When she leaves the house, Mr Laroche the banker rings and freezes her account. You see, Lyna’s father is the Parisian underworld’s accountant. He launders and redistributes money around and he’s an infamous figure in the game. For her birthday, he transfers over 2 million euros, hence why its caused alarm at the bank.

However, Lyna celebrates her birthday over with her parents at their house but just before blowing out the candle, a gunshot sounds and kills her father outright. Blood spills into the cake, while Lyna is thrown into the vault, forced to endure the grief and anguish from seeing her father killed.

Lyna ends up down at the station with the police, where she learns her mum is still alive. It’s a small bit of salvation, but it seems like The Fury was the one who killed her pa. Unfortunately, Lyna ends up behind bars for her efforts, and she struggles to hold her own against other inmates. However, that’s not for the want of trying to practice and get better.

Unfortunately, Lyna’s father’s death is pretty much swept under the rug. For many of the officers on the force, it’s a good thing given they no longer need to worry about his criminal activities. Lyna is on her own, and without retribution or a chance to get justice, she’s left to rot behind bars.

5 months later and she’s still behind bars. However, she has a bad temper and after being assaulted by one of the prison guards – the same one who sexually assaulted her months earlier – she smacks her upside the head with a metal tray. She’s sent to solitary but thanks to a book she’s found in the library, labelled Self-Defence, Lyna has now become a new woman and can more than hold her own.

Lyna eventually does go free but avoids any confrontations with Elie, who shows up with a big ol’ teddy bear. Instead, Lyna heads off to see her mum, who is in a wheelchair… and can’t remember who Lyna is. She has amnesia but this only drives Lyna forward. She’s determined to figure out who did this to her father – and why. First up, it’s time to follow the money.

It doesn’t take long for word to reach The Fury that Lyna is after her. She takes this intel in her stride and adds the surveillance shot to the rest of the pictures she has hung up on the wall. She promises her lackey, The Fixer, that she’s going to keep an eye on her.

As for Lyna, she recklessly ends up at a blackjack table, with the loser not just forced to lose their money…but also  their hand too by smashing it with a hammer. There are six hammer cards in the deck and, worried she may face the worst, Lyna decides to hightail it away from the table after causing a distraction. However, the guy in charge, Orso, realizes that he actually lost the card game and ends up taking an interest in her.

Lyna manages to slip away but she ends up with over 200 texts from Elie, who has been going crazy waiting for her to contact him. Lyna does give him the evening together, allowing him to celebrate her birthday. In the middle of the night though, Lyna gets up and leaves, scrawling a note on the wall and deciding they need 48 hours before they start over.

Lyna has a plan to draw out The Fury, and she’s sussed out that the money for her is being moved about using rubbish trucks. Naturally, she causes a distraction and eventually manages to hop up on a bridge and jump down on the roof of the vehicle. The truck winds up crashing and she commandeers the vehicle. She doesn’t take the money though but instead adds a GPS tracker. The Fixer susses out Lyna’s game.

While the guy destroys the trackers, Lyna has her position compromised, thanks to Fixer’s goons showing up across the river. Lyna manages to hold her own though and knocks out two of the men. However, it turns out a blonde woman who handed over a cookie to her earlier by the shore is actually The Fury herself, and she seems to know what’s going on here, including the full hierarchy of the criminal gangs.

Lyna follows the clues and winds up at The Fury’s place. She finds a hidden compartment in the wall and a locked crate (which she opens with bolt-cutters) where there’s a whole load of files about her family. Unfortunately, Elie messages and the most unbelievable part is that Lyna doesn’t have her phone on silent. It goes off, and The Fury spots her.

Now, it turns out that The Fury has been orchestrating Lyna’s plan all the way since prison to ger here, with that inmate she beat up planted by The Fury herself. Fury still thinks Lyna is working for someone else rather than a rogue agent. However, one thing seems to be confirmed here – The Fury didn’t kill her father. But why not?

Well, it appears that there was a big criminal underworld war going on and it involves someone called “Jellyfish”. When The Fixer shows up, Lyna, with tears in her eyes, confirms that she now works for The Fury.

SILENT NIGHT BY GAHEZA SIMBA 2024

 

Synopsis:

Married couple Nell and Simon host a yearly Christmas dinner at their country estate for their former school friends and their spouses. This Christmas is a special occasion with everyone dressing in formal wear and the children being allowed to swear. It is gradually revealed that because of an imminent environmental catastrophe in which a gigantic rolling poisonous gas cloud (which follows minutes after numerous smaller green tornadoes that are generally considered as heralds of the upcoming danger) is killing most life forms, the British government has issued suicide pills for a quick and easy death before the cloud hits Britain. The suicide pills were delivered to the entire population, except for the homeless and illegal migrants. Nell, Simon, and the rest of their friends have made a suicide pact to take the pills and give them to their children. However, while James agrees with his friends over the decision, his young wife Sophie has recently discovered she is pregnant and is still unsure whether to take the pill.

There are several confrontations during the night: Kitty is given a doll that resembles her, and she hugs her father, but refuses to hug Sandra even though she begs her to; Art finds the act of gift giving ridiculous, so he lashes out at the adults and runs from the room; Sandra tells James she had loved him when they were in school and wondered why they never had sex; Tony gets visibly upset at her admission and claims he has never made a mistake, at which point Bella says they once had sex before he got together with Sandra; Alex feels left out during the festivities, which causes her to drink too much and pass out in her bed.

Nell, Simon and their children video chat with Nell's mother, who is abroad, to say goodbye. She sees the gas coming, so hangs up and takes the pill. The conversation leaves their eldest, Art, distressed. He begins to speculate that the government and the scientists are wrong. Art approaches James and Sophie with his fears. Sophie then reveals to him that she is pregnant thus she does not want to take the pill. Art tells his parents he will not take the pill; this culminates in him running away after a discussion. Art soon discovers a family, including a baby, on the side of the road. They are dead, and there are several packs of the pill in the car. Shocked, Art begins to scream as the small green tornadoes twist around him; his screams allow Simon to find him and he carries him home.

After returning home, the group realizes it is past midnight and time to take their pills. They divide into their separate rooms to say goodbye. Art passes out and Nell holds him, while Simon gives his children the pills. The boys ask for drinks to take the pills, so Simon gets them fizzy drinks. Meanwhile, James pressures Sophie to take the pill saying he will not unless she does too, and they eventually take them. Bella attempts to wake Alex to take her pill and makes her take it while she is very drunk, but she wakes and vomits the pill. Bella tells her they have five minutes and while in the kitchen they dance and Bella uses the diversion to stab Alex. Both die soon after. Tony, Kitty and Sandra all lie in a bed to await death when Kitty remembers her doll and runs to get it while Sandra again begs her for a hug. When Kitty returns, she sees her parents are dead and she crawls between them, finally hugging Sandra. Nell notices that Art has bled through his eyes, nose, and ears. Frightened, the whole family rapidly take their pills, and lie next to Art.

The following morning, it is seen that everyone is dead. The final shot focuses on Art, who suddenly opens his eyes.
